Because a church cared

Olga was one of the many mothers who fled Ukraine with her children after the war broke out. She arrived in Bulgaria with her three children and was met by church members there who have a heart for widows and orphans.

Olga's youngest child, a four-year-old boy, had to be fed through a tube in the stomach since his birth. The church members were sure that the boy could be healed by surgery and brought Olga with her little son to a doctor. The doctor confirmed that surgery was possible and would probably make the tube unnecessary. But of course, such surgery was expensive and far above anything Olga, or the church, could afford.

At that time Olga received an official refugee status to Bulgaria and got a Bulgarian ID card. With that card, she was able to get the surgery for her son for free. The surgery was successful, and the little boy doesn't need the feeding tube anymore. All that happened because a church cared.
