There is Hope for Me Workshops in Bulgaria for Ukrainian families

Posted on: 2023-04-25

'There is Hope for Me' workshops gathered 50 Ukrainian families for training on trauma and how to practically support their children. As well as teaching parents about helping their children to deal with the trauma, the gospel was shared with participants in a simple way. The workshops were organised by Bulgaria Without Orphans in partnership with YWAM School of Children at Risk trainers, Johan and Jeanette Lukasse, and the Bulgarian charity 'Regal Care'. Thanks to our donors WWO Europe's Ukraine Appeal Fund was able to support the project.

Some feedback from the participants:

"It was really interesting and useful to learn about child development and trauma. Even though I trained as a teacher in Ukraine, I didn’t learn about child development, so this was new for me."

"Even though I am familiar with the Orthodox church and I recognised some of the stories about Jesus, my idea about Christianity before this was very different to how it was presented today. I want to know more about this gospel."
