WWO Friends and Family Give the Gift of Family to Children Around the World

As 2024 comes to a close and we celebrate the birth of Jesus this month, the team at WWO Global reflects on the goodness of God and all that He has done this year through you – our friends and family around the world. We celebrate our common vision to see every child grow up in a safe and loving family and know their identity in their Heavenly Father.

It has been a whirlwind year, kicking off with the Global Forum in Thailand, where 460 global leaders from 63 countries gathered to work together to end orphanhood and strengthen families. The Forum showcased best practices from around the world and helped bring regions together to achieve this vision.

Many countries, including Egypt, Kenya, Jordan, Macau, Malawi, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, held WWO Round Tables this year to help leaders strategically develop action plans to better address the orphaned and vulnerable child challenges in each of their nations.  Several also incorporated trauma competency or other training with the round tables.  (Read more on this later in the newsletter)

All regions continued training in the WWO Roadmap, helping to equip local leaders and build learning communities where leaders collaborate to solve problems facing children in their countries and lean on each other and God to live refreshed.

WWO Hope Groups continue to grow and be offered in more countries.  Since July, 80 new groups have been implemented, helping 560 families.  New Hope Groups are being launched in every region of the world, and gaining respect in government, university, and scientific circles as a practical, evidence-based tool to help families in crisis.

We anticipate 2025 being another powerful year of shared vision and believe God will open doors for each of you as you continue to work faithfully to see a world without orphans.  All of us wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year!
