Jephat Chifamba

Zimbabwe Without Orphans, Chairperson; Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Zimbabwe, Deputy Dean

Jephat is a dedicated children’s church minister and a compassionate advocate for vulnerable children in impoverished communities. Having witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by orphans and victims of various forms of abuse, he realized that merely saying “Jesus loves you” to those children wasn’t enough. In response, he became director of an organization that partnered with local churches to provide hope, a family, and a future for orphans. He was initially inclined toward traditional orphanages, but his perspective underwent a transformation after exposure to an alternative approach by a missionary.

Jephat actively contributes to initiatives that seek to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children. He currently serves as the chairperson of Zimbabwe Without Orphans and as a board member of Love Justice International. He also participates in various other boards, including those of Karanda Mission Hospital and alternative care homes for orphans.

Beyond his humanitarian efforts, Jephat is a distinguished professor of physiology and holds the position of deputy dean within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Zimbabwe.

Jephat describes his mission as evangelizing children and making sure that orphans grow in good health. He believes that when cognitive and educational issues are addressed, children can grow well spiritually and socially (Luke 2:52).
