Amalee McCoy

Project Lead for Scaling Up Parenting for Lifelong Health in the Public Health System

The project Dr. McCoy leads is based at the Peace Culture Foundation, a Chiang Mai–based Thai NGO. It is part of the Global Parenting Initiative, headed by the University of Oxford and funded through the LEGO Foundation and the World Childhood Foundation.  

Amalee has over 23 years of experience in child protection and child rights research, program design and implementation, policy advocacy and legal reform, and local capacity building with international development organizations in the Asian region. She has previously worked as a staff member for the UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office, Plan International Thailand, ECPAT International, and UNESCAP. In addition, she has performed consultancy work for the University of Oxford, Save the Children China, as well as UNICEF headquarters and its Thailand and Montenegro country offices. Amalee obtained her PhD in Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford, UK. She is a dual Thai-American national and lives in Bangkok.
