Mohamed Nabieu

Child Welfare Programs Liaison, Helping Children Worldwide

Mohamed Nabieu (“Nabs”) is a care leaver, and he was one of the first children that were recruited by the Child Rescue Centre (CRC) after the Sierra Leone civil war. The CRC sponsored him through University. Upon graduation, he served the CRC in Sierra Leone for five years, first as the Sponsor-A-Child Coordinator, and later as the Programs Director. Under his leadership, the Child Rescue Centre successfully and safely transitioned from orphanage care to family-based care through meaningful collaboration with all stakeholders; and, as result of this reintegration, all children under the CRC are now happily living with their forever families in their respective communities.

Presently Mohamed is working as the Child Welfare Programs Liaison at Helping Children Worldwide, which is a registered 501 C3 nonprofit organization based in the greater D.C. Area, and it supports over 500 most vulnerable children and families in Sierra Leone, West Africa. With his wide range of experience and background in development, organizational psychology, child protection issues, leadership development, and organizational change management, he finds immense pleasure in serving vulnerable populations, building people up, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
